A round up of recent outfits with lots of pieces that I am starting to wear as we FINALLY transition into fall

Fashion Recent WhatI

You’ll find my favorite denim picks and lots of cute and comfy leathers shoes.

I am in disbelief that October is next week. Maybe it would help if it cooled off even for 5 minutes. It has been SO hot here, but I have been hoping for fall weather so bad that I am starting to wear jeans in *hopes* that maybe, JUST maybe, fall will come soon.

As you might know already, I’m a BIG fan of Nordstrom. If I can’t find it on Nordstrom, I most likely won’t buy it. There’s just something about free shipping, free returns and their customer service that’s unbeatable. So while a lot of my wardrobe from there, I have a few new pieces from J.Crew and Boden too.

I hope that wherever this post finds you is cooler than Winston-Salem! When it goes live, I’ll be in Denver… and it won’t be any cooler there. But hey, it’s definitely less humid!

Here’s what I’ve been wearing lately!
Casual Outfits
These red jeans are my favorites! They are by Madewell, one of my favorite brands EVER. I love that they are high waisted and they are so comfortable!

Also, can we talk about these Sam Edelman loafers? They’re affordable, the leather is nice and comfy from the first wear. No breaking in necessary. They come in tons of colors and I want to get them in every single one! See the other colors here.

I wish I could find this exact skirt, but it’s sooo old! (Like J.Crew 2008, old.) I love pattern skirts because you can wear basically any top with them.

You’ll see these heels throughout the rest of this post. I love the metallic gold color – it makes them more fun than a nude pump, but they’re equally as versatile and neutral. And the heel isn’t too high which makes it more comfortable!

I love a good jumpsuit. I love the blue and white, too! this is one of my favorite pieces in my closet. I wish I could find the exact same jumpsuit to link to, but I’ve found two really great ones to link. A jumpsuit is one of my favorite looks because it’s so simple to wear. I only have to choose shoes! These shoes are probably my ALL time favorites for the fall. They are a good height and so comfortable!

Do you own Birkenstocks yet? I am literally obsessed. I wear them all over the house and out to run errands. They have a great arch and they feel so good to my feet right after a run. They come in tons of colors and different materials. I have the suede, but I love the leather too!

And these shorts are on my favorites list. They’re loose around my legs and distressed which makes them such a good option when I don’t want to wear something tighter like the J.Crew denim shorts. I can’t wait to pair them with a long-sleeved flannel top!

hello stripes! I love this boatneck top. Also, I don’t know about where you live, but Hunter rainboots are a MUST for the winter. Now is the time to buy them before they sell out. I love them sooo much, and I was worried about them being too tall or heavy and was shocked by how comfy they are. I was excited to bust these out on a super rainy day a few weeks ago!

I am all about the culotte pant style right now! I love these pants because they’re a fun switch from jeans, comfortable and flattering with a heel! And you already know that I am obsessed with these J.Crew tops. I have EVERY single color!

I got this Barbour jacket last year for my recent trip to Ireland and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. It’s in stock again and I am SO excited that I can link to it for y’all! It’s versatile – the neutral color goes with everything and it can be dressed up or down.

This linen top is comfy and cute and I’m OBSESSED. (I packed it with me to Denver). Never mind I bought it last fall and hadn’t worn it since…WHY?!! It’s my new go-to. I got so many questions about it when I was wearing it in my IG stories yesterday and then my swipe-up didn’t work… so here’s the link for you ladies!

I especially love linen during transitional months when it’s still warm but I want to dress a little bit for fall. I love it paired with jeans and either flats or heels. And these are my new favorite jeans (that I got at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale). They’re high waisted, stretching and so very flattering.

This is the same outfit with my favorite Sam Edelman Loafers! I kid you not, you need these. I ALWAYS take them when I travel since I can walk all over without blisters.

Workout
I’ve been trying to add some yoga and strength training in my life, to try to balance out the 50-55 mile weeks. While I usually only run in leggings if it’s cold outside, I always wear leggings if I’m doing some sort of strength training or yoga. These are my favorite non-running leggings and I wear them pretty much all year round. I think they’re so flattering, and I love that they are a 7/8 length.

Can you see me now? I wear this vest when I run in the dark and it’s the BEST running vest ever. It doesn’t bounce and it’s not heavy and annoying like so many others I’ve used in the past. I had to run earlier than usual in the morning one day last week, when one of my best running friends was in town! Running with friends is always the best time. And, if you’re on my newsletter, you’ll get an update about my latest running + morning schedule in that!

I love running in these shorts especially because they don’t chafe.

Another legging look! Don’t you agree that all black is so flattering? It’s a wonder to me why everywhere anything else as soon as I put on my all black! This is all Lululemon!

If you’ve been following me for a little bit then you probably already know this but one of my new pro tips is to buy men’s tanks from Lululemon. They will hem them (for free!) for you in the store and then all of a sudden you have a loose fitting crop top! Plus, nobody else has it! It’s a win-win. I’m obsessed with this blue tank that was on the men’s line that I had them him for me. It’s fun to have some other options now at Lululemon!

Dress it up
This dress was a dream at wedding we went to a few weeks ago. I love a good low-v (if appropriate, duh!). This particular dress isn’t linked, but I linked one that’s almost identical. I love how slimming black is, if you missed that earlier ;). I also love the thin straps on this one! You can see how it looked next to my hot date in this post!

Cue Tommy’s favorite dress. He always talks about how much he loves this, and so do I! I don’t have anything like it, which makes it so much more special. Unfortunately, this exact dress is sold out. Trust me, I’m upset about it too! I love this cute AND pattern. I have linked some great similar options below! Originally this dress was from Keil James Patrick (check them out, sooo cute!)

I can’t even begin to tell you how often I get asked about this dress. The best part? It doesn’t break the bank. I mean, it’s not completely cheap, but pretty cheap for a great gown. The rich green color is absolutely beautiful in person and the material is stretchy so it’s comfy and not constricting, i.e. you can enjoy wine, cake and dancing in it. You can see more photos of me wearing it in this post.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lilly Pulitzer. I used to hate it before I moved to NC, but the South grows on you.   I was absolutely shocked to find out it fits as well as it does. It fits my muscular, curvy frame so well and is cute and feminine. They update their site so often that this exact dress is gone, but there are TONS of similar options!
