True story: I didn’t own a pair of jeans for about 8 years. I was terrified of jeans. And, it wasn’t for a lack of trying. I can’t tell you how many times I’d lock myself in a store fitting room to try on countless pairs of denim only to feel discouraged.
Fast forward to today: I cannot get enough of denim! I live in jeans. And, it’s due to retailers like Zappos (their Denim Shop makes finding denim for your body type SO easy) and brands like Madewell who are reengineering their designs to work for ALL body types. I couldn’t be more thankful for the strides society is making towards inclusivity and body positivity.

I feel confident and comfortable in these jeans that have just the right amount of stretch to make you feel ready to take on anything life throws your way! The Madewell® Oversized Jean Jacket in Capstone pairs the boxy masculine take on the classic denim jacket with feminine touches. Not-So-Basic Basic Babe
The Madewell® Curvy High Rise Skinny Jean is perfect for those with an hourglass shape—a higher rise with a narrowed waist and contoured band, a longer rise, and more room at the hips and thighs. I can’t accurately put into words how sexy these jeans make me feel. The jeans fit me like a glove, but it wasn’t until I saw a photo of me in them that I fell in love. I took one look at myself in the Madewell® Curvy High Rise Skinny Jeans and thought “GIRL, YOU LOOK GOOD!”. Carbondale is a dark black wash with ISKO Reform™ XP technology — fabric that was specially dyed to stay dark for longer, so you don’t have to worry about these pants fading. This pair also has slimming Magic Pockets—an extra layer at the front panel that holds you in for a sleek look—which gave me the confidence to show a little bit of skin and tie up my Madewell® Denim Oversized Ex-Boyfriend Shirt. I usually shy away from button down shirts because I’m bigger busted and can’t deal with buttons popping open, but in true curve conscious fashion—Madewell nailed the fit of this shirt!
Mom Jean Glam
The Madewell® Perfect Vintage jean is exactly what it says—perfect. The tapered jean has a glamorous high rise and fitted through the hip and thigh for a '90s "mom" silhouette. Truth be told, I have stayed far away from the mom jean trend. I was terrified of what a high-rise relaxed fit would do for my curves, but Madewell’s Perfect Vintage Jean has that tiny bit of stretch that hugs your curves just as it should to give you that sex appeal you know you need to tap into, girl! Even with it’s relaxed fit, I felt comfortable tucking in my Madewell® Northside Vintage Tee to play up the femininity of my finished look.
