In this post, I shared my fall wardrobe must-haves — classic items that work year after year. A tip for building a solid wardrobe: buy quality items with timeless style. I’d MUCH rather buy a pair of high quality boots that will last me 5-10 years than buy cheaper ones that I have to replace every year. It’s more economical in the long run, reduces stuff and the high quality stuff is generally more comfortable.
All of these photos are from last year, but all of the items pictured are things I’ll still wear this year because I buy items that last, not things that will quickly be last season. And I’m not that dedicated of a blogger to put on sweaters and boots for new photos when it’s 90 degrees and 95% humidity. I love y’all but there’s a line, it’s called sanity, and I draw it there.
My Fall Wardrobe Staples 1. Tall brown boots
So I wear these tall brown leather boots multiple times a week in the fall (and during winter, hence the garland in the background) and have for nearly eight years. Honestly I don’t think a tall leather boot will ever go out of style which makes them a great investment for your closet and an essential item in your Fall wardrobe staples.

2. Tall Black Boots
Same story for these. A black riding boot is a pair of shoes you’ll get a lot of use out of since they can be dressed up or down, and pair well with jeans or dresses. I have the Tory Burch Everly Knee High Boot. They’re beautiful and comfortable and warm.

3. Comfy Sweaters
Fall weather = sweater weather = best weather. Super oversized sweaters aren’t my main go-to since I’m so petite. But leggings call for longer sweaters. So I just make sure they’re still slim through the torso to avoid overwhelming my frame. Also if I am wearing an oversized sweater, I roll the sleeves a little to show some more skin to balance it out.

4. Patagonia Jackets
This is definitely a brand worth investing in. Not only is Patagonia a great company (it’s a B-Corp like Beautycounter) with an amazing lifetime warranty, their stuff is cute, comfortable and functional.
I wear my black Patagonia Nanopuff coat almost every single day in the fall and winter. It’s so warm but SO light. Also it compresses into a small built-in pouch which makes it great to stuff in my purse, and it also packs super well. Also see my tips to travel with only a carry-on!)

I also love the Patagonia Better Sweater and Snap pullover.

Long Sleeved Dresses
I love dresses all year, but especially in the fall and especially long-sleeved dresses since they’re so pretty and feminine. So I linked a few that I’m eyeing!
