Chico's latest 'Safari Chic' collection is inspired by the beauty of Serengeti. I was quite amazed by their modern interpretation of animal print, utilitarian details and dusty hues. Firstly, a chance to spend time with these boss bases (which is you have been keeping up with me, I haven't been out and about in the blogger world for a few years) and secondly an opportunity to give these hue my own twist.
I decided to go with the Floral Faux Suede Trench Coat because colors! Even when the hues are brown, I have to bring in the color any which way I can. The free hand brush stroke flowers and branches on this piece are reminiscent of the landscape painting techniques of artists from China's Ming and Qing Dynasties. I styled this statement piece with a slimming pants and shirt underneath with a statement cuff and stylish earrings. After the shoot, I stepped out in the exact look for a date and the number of compliments I received convinced me that this trench was the right choice for the season.
