This project is an advanced make bringing together techniques for making button bands and buttonholes, and adding cuffs.  The workshop runs for 6 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11 am and 5 pm. 

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY:

What you will learn: How to cut your fabric and pattern match at the centre front - Transfer pattern markings - How to stitch darts correctly - Make and attach the collar - Making button bands and buttonholes - Sewing on buttons - Adding sleeves and cuffs - Be introduced to lightweight interfacing. 

All materials included: fabric, thread and buttons.

Level: This workshop is best suited to a very confident beginner as it requires more than the basic sewing machine skills including being comfortable in sewing straight lines. However, no experience sewing buttonholes is needed.

Cost: £120 (teaching and materials excluding optional sewing machine hire* (£5*)).

You are advised to bring a sewing machine that you are familiar with along with the appropriate foot i.e. a standard foot. If you are unable to bring a sewing machine and would like to make use of a sewing machine on site there is an extra fee of £5 to cover the hire fee. Kindly notify me as soon as possible if you require use of a sewing machine.

Food and drink: You will have full use of the shared kitchen area and facilities including tea and coffee. This also includes use of the fridge and microwave. Kindly bring your own food as eating establishments in the immediate area are limited.
