Back to School

Back to school is almost here in NC and both of my kiddos couldn’t be more excited! Henry will be going into 3rd grade and Olive is starting Kindergarten! Bittersweet for sure! Henry’s confidence going in to a new school year makes me so happy – I just can’t believe he is one of the “big kids” at his school this year! Scroll down to see some first day of school pictures from previous years – time is such a thief! To be honest, Henry wears mostly sports gear to school – shorts year round, socks up to his knees,...

An ode to the grumpy writer in The Princess Diaries.

An ode to the grumpy writer in The Princess Diaries.

The Princess Diaries was first released on this day in 2001, and because it’s based on a book, that officially means I can write about it for literary hub dot com and no one can stop me. It's actually very simple to sew an understitch. All you do is sew a straight stitch to attach the seam allowance to the facing (or lining or pocket). Because this is such a simple technique,...

Midsummer Wish List

Midsummer Wish List

Comin’ at ya today with a good old fashioned just-for-fun collage of things that have caught my eye lately. 1. Denim Jumpsuit, $225: I bought this Madewell romper earlier in the summer (it’s finally back in stock and on sale!) and it’s been my most-worn piece of clothing for the last two months. It’s so easy and cute to throw on for weekend activities with the kids. My friend has and loves the Alex Mill jumpsuit which will take me into fall nicely. 2. AYR The Deep End Shirt, $135: 100% getting this in white. I have the blue stripe...
