I've always enjoyed Christmas in July. Back when it started, I remember QVC dedicating the weekend to it, but only on the years the 25th happened to fall on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Of course now, the Christmas line-up broadcasts six months a year. When I think of CIJ, two things come to mind (in addition to an extra reason for a summer party:@), canning for holiday gifts while the gardens are productive, and starting handmade items that may take a while to complete.
Canning:
May I suggest one of the tastiest ways to preserve the
summer garden's most notorious overachiever...
Zucchini Bread Jam
This is a nicely spiced jam that's perfectly at home on toast or a bagel.
My only recommendation, if you're making this to tuck away for gifts,
the golden raisins would be prettier.

This year's contribution is a ~cute~ Stocking Cap made from a sock.
You can get two hats per sock.
As for the long term crafts...
Well, all I can say is, inspiration is everywhere!
Maybe a new Yo-Yo Christmas Table Runner or Tree Skirt? If you're really ambitious:@)
Watermelon Christmas trees using cookie cutters from Southern Living.
🎄No matter what you do this ~holiday~ weekend,
I hope you make it a fun one:@)
